I really enjoyed this. The characters were likeable and well written. The story caught me in the first chapter and I was hooked until the end. Looking forward to the next!

I loved Brooke and the Wolf! The characters are compelling and their story hooked me from the very beginning. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I’d recommend this book for teens to adult readers- you won’t regret it!

This is a fast paced novel with lots of action, characters you can’t help but love and cheer for, villains you love to hate. Add in drama, teen angst, and challenges of shape shifting and you’ve got a story that will keep you on your toes. The author set up a great underlying story that leaves her reader wondering and looking forward to the next book.

That’s actually a huge compliment. I can’t stand Hallmark movies. I liked that there were no easy answers, but sometimes…good things happened that weren’t deserved. And sometimes, bad things happened that also weren’t deserved.

This was a sweet romance and coming of age story amidst real-world terrible circumstances. I not only enjoyed it, I’m off to read the next one! ❤️

Brooke and the Wolf is about two young adults who have faced many challenges and hardships. An unfortunate situation turns into a blossoming friendship as Brooke and Peter are drawn to take care of one another through the chaos of their lives.

The book begins in Peters POV as he’s selling fish at the market, when a disheveled girl steals a fish, with a lack of stealth, yet he allows her to take the fish because she must need it, right?

In the next chapter, it is Brookes POV, where you come to understand why she needs to steal a fish, to feed her and her younger sister. She is forced into a difficult situation because she is the only one left to care for her sister.

You’d think that Brooke and Peter’s interaction would be their last, yet strange circumstances bring them back into each other’s lives as he shows her the compassion and stability she yearns for.

I mean, can you blame Brooke for quickly falling for a husky, wilderness man who knows how to communicate and show his affection through actions? And to top it off, he’s a wolf?!

I loved the character development and the writing style the author displays. I was immediately drawn into this story from the first page. It is a heart wrenching story but it also has so many aspects to love. I couldn’t tear my eyes from the pages!

I don’t usually read YA books because I love my romance, but this book makes up for the lack of adult content by compelling it’s readers with an amazing story.

If you love a story that has a lot of twists and turns, gut wrenching tragedies, romance, fantasy, and friendship, you will enjoy Brooke and the Wolf.

I give this book four stars only because I wish there were more intimate moments between Brooke and Peter, but I understand, as a YA, that there can only be so much intimacy.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! I have a feeling there is more fantasy than a wolf shifter, in the books to come!

This is my first time reading this author and it definitely will not be my last. The characters are so likeable and for me the more realistic parts of the story, were very relatable. Its well written. I literally could not put it down, I finished it in one sitting. I would definitely recommend reading this.

This author is so brilliant at writing every scene in such a vivid way that I can literally picture where the characters are, what they look like, what the sounds, sights, and smells are around them. I am sooo excited this is the first of a series because I am left wanting more of the same amazing talent! I am purchasing a hardback copy, in addition to the Kindle version I have already purcahsed, to give to my two teenage boys. They will absolutely LOVE this!

This is my first time reading this author and it definitely will not be the last. The book had me hooked from the start!

Everything that happens in this book you can picture in your head, it’s as if you’re watching a movie that you never want to end! The character development is spot on, the plot keeps you hanging off the edge of your seat and you definitely find a character to connect with.

This was such a fun take on a girl meets werewolf story! Not only is it relatable with some real world hardships, it has a bunch of fun twists and turns to keep your imagination going while making you wonder what will happen next! Would Definitely Recommend.

This book left me exhausted and sleepy all day, because I couldn’t stop reading it the night before! 😀 Brooke is a wonderful character, and both her and Peter’s stories are wonderfully told, with some intriguing twists and heartfelt moments. I am left craving more time with these characters, and I’m very excited to see where the series goes from here!

And if you, like me, prefer a cleaner romance that doesn’t slap you with heavy adult scenes, then you’re in luck! The romance and drama is clean and youth-friendly, but no less intoxicating and immersive.

Ok so I must start off with I couldn’t put this down once I started!

Brooke our main girl is relatable in every way.

I love the character development and Peter’s POV. Peter is our main guy and a shifter. Not just any shifter, a wolf!
Since the first moment he saw Brooke he was intrigued and so was I. I instantly wanted to know her story and how their paths would cross. The story is fantastic and easy to read. I can’t wait to get I can’t wait to get more from this world!

Who knew

I started reading this one night and could not put it down! I had to be at work the next morning, but I also just had to know what happened with Brooke and Peter! I’m not an avid reader and get bored very quickly with most books I try to read, but this one took off and kept me interested from the get-go. Can’t wait to read the next book!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book release and was not disappointed! Highly recommend! Finally an author that knows how to weave a story without the vulgarity typical of today’s publications. I hope we don’t have to wait long for the release of the rest of the series!

While reading, it’s like your right there watchingit as it happens. It’s so vividly written and a real page turning… it sucks you in and makes it hard to put the book down. It literally kept me in shock and suspense. Even though there was a shortage of adult content, the story and plot with its twists made up for it. You could literally feel the power between them and what was going on through the book… I would recommend too read it.

I couldn’t put this book down. I adored this urban fantasy. It was a refreshing change of pace to read a clean wholesome romance. Valeri Jo developed great characters. I fell in love with Brooke and am totally team Peter. They both went through such heartbreaking trials/tribulations and yet they kept a positive sunny disposition. I was so overjoyed they found love. I would for sure watch this if they made a hallmark show out of it. I was sad when I realized the book was over I was left wanting book 2 to be out right NOW so I could continue reading. I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved it! I enjoy all types of shapeshifter stories, this one I couldn’t put down! I just had to know what was happening next. Cannot wait for book 2!

I loved how the characters developed a relationship just by Brooke stealing fish. This story talks about real-life scenarios such as trying to provide a roof over her, and her sister’s head. This book is a great love story filled with an enticing plot. An easy turn pager!

I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of Brooke and the Wolf: Curses of Midnight Springs, and I LOVED it! Valerie drew me in right from the beginning, and the action never stopped. My heart broke for Brooke, cheered for her, cried for her, and celebrated along side her. The love story was sweet and swoony without being too steamy, which I appreciate. This book had everything including werewolf shifting, dynamic and strongly developed characters, thick plot lines, and imagery that made me feel as if I had been to Midnight Springs. I’m already looking forward to Raven and the Ghost!
